- The Production Supervisor plays a key role in achieving production targets, minimizing waste, optimizing processes, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead and reinforce compliance with Westlake Pipe & Fittings safety policies and procedures
- Drive root cause problem solving using 5-Why methodology and structured improvement tools
- Monitor workflow, staffing, and line performance to optimize efficiency and reduce downtime
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to production team members
- Partner with Maintenance and Engineering to recommend equipment improvements or modifications
- Lead changeovers to ensure efficient transitions and minimal production disruption
- Coach, develop, and performance-manage team members
- Support employee relations activities including attendance tracking, overtime management, and disciplinary actions
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and enforce plant cleanliness policies
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- 1-2 years of leadership or team supervision experience
- Strong understanding of production processes, workflow coordination, and operational performance
- Working knowledge of safety procedures and manufacturing best practices
- The employee may be required to use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.
- Participate in supervisor and operational meetings as required
Nice to have
- Experience in PVC/PVCO extrusion operations preferred
- Familiarity with SAP, SPC, or production reporting systems preferred
