About the role
- The Assistant Director of Student Involvement (Fraternity & Sorority Life) is an integral part of the daily operation of the Office of Student Involvement ("OSI"), as well as the Division of Student Life.
- The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting with oversight of Furman's fraternity and sorority community of over 800 students and 14 chapters.
Responsibilities
- provides community support through one-on-one meetings with council officers and attendance at council meetings to promote student leadership and a values-centered fraternity and sorority experience.
- Advises and mentors leaders of FPC, IFC, and NPHC chapters, including providing guidance and support through regular one-on-one meetings.
- Oversees and manages the Furman Fraternal Excellence program to align fraternity/sorority organizations with Furman's strategic priorities.
- Manages Fraternity & Sorority Life operating budget.
Requirements
- Must have excellent organizational skills and strong communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
- Some evening and weekend hours required.
Nice to have
- experience in fraternity and sorority advising is strongly preferred.
