About the role

  • We have domestic ammunition manufacturing facilities in Minnesota, Idaho, Arkansas, and Missouri, and service law enforcement, government agencies and sporting enthusiasts throughout the world.
  • This role will serve as the internal subject matter expert on steel materials, supporting manufacturing engineering by guiding alloy selection, heat treatment strategies, and microstructure optimization.
  • This individual will play a critical role in improving material performance, troubleshooting defects, and accelerating our overall learning curve in steel processing.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineers to:
  • Optimize annealing and tempering strategies
  • Support selection and validation of raw materials and suppliers
  • Collaborate with external consultants, labs, and vendors to implement best practices

Requirements

  • Experience with steel alloys used in high-performance or high-volume applications
  • Familiarity with boron steels or advanced alloy systems

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or Engineering (Materials-focused preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience working with steel materials in a manufacturing or industrial environment

Compensation

  • $77,300.00 - $108,100.00 The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
