About the role
- We have domestic ammunition manufacturing facilities in Minnesota, Idaho, Arkansas, and Missouri, and service law enforcement, government agencies and sporting enthusiasts throughout the world.
- This role will serve as the internal subject matter expert on steel materials, supporting manufacturing engineering by guiding alloy selection, heat treatment strategies, and microstructure optimization.
- This individual will play a critical role in improving material performance, troubleshooting defects, and accelerating our overall learning curve in steel processing.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Manufacturing Engineers to:
- Optimize annealing and tempering strategies
- Support selection and validation of raw materials and suppliers
- Collaborate with external consultants, labs, and vendors to implement best practices
Requirements
- Experience with steel alloys used in high-performance or high-volume applications
- Familiarity with boron steels or advanced alloy systems
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or Engineering (Materials-focused preferred)
- 5+ years of experience working with steel materials in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Compensation
- $77,300.00 - $108,100.00 The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
