About the role
- The Automation Engineer designs, develops, and implements automated systems and processes to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity in manufacturing or business operations.
- This role involves working with control systems, robotics, software, and data systems to reduce manual intervention and optimize performance.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement automated systems and processes
- Develop and maintain control systems, including SCADA and DCS
- Support commissioning, installation, and testing of equipment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, production)
- Document automation processes, system configuration, and procedures
- Analyze system performance data and implement continuous improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, or related field)
- 3+ years of related professional experience
- Experience with control systems, automation systems, and robotics
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming and industrial communication protocols
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Experience with robotics (Fanuc, Yaskawa, etc.)
- Experience with modeling or electrical print software (e.g. CAD, Solid Works, Creo)
