About the role

  • It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws.
  • Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission.
  • Schedule and coordinate virtual hearings, ensuring proper notice, connectivity, and participation.

  • This position provides advanced administrative support to the Population Management Office, with a primary focus on coordinating virtual hearings for incarcerated individuals statewide and assisting with the Safekeeper admission process.
  • Manage and maintain the statewide virtual hearings calendar for all correctional facilities.
  • Serve as a liaison between DAC facilities and external stakeholders, including judges, attorneys, clerks of court, and law enforcement.
  • Troubleshoot scheduling conflicts and ensure necessary resources (e.g., technology and space) are in place.
  • Track and document hearings, attendance, outcomes, and any technical issues.
  • Schedule and coordinate virtual hearings involving offenders.

  • The role requires strong organization, professional communication, discretion, and independent judgment while working with a diverse group of stakeholders, including judicial officials, attorneys, court personnel, law enforcement agencies, DAC staff and leadership, and external partners.
