About the role

- Depending on applicant qualifications, this role has an expected salary range of $ 56,700 - $64,100.
Responsibilities
- Manage NAFC's social media presence, including content creation, scheduling, and engagement
- Coordinate public relations activities, including building and maintaining relationships with community members and relevant stakeholders
- Organize and support the planning and execution of events, campaigns and conferences
- Maintain NAFC's website, ensuring everything is up to date, engaging, and accessible

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field;
- 2-3 years of proven experience in communications, public relations, or a related role, preferably within the non-profit sector;
- Must be able to work in both official languages;
- Strong understanding of Indigenous history and culture;
- Knowledge of desktop publishing software;
- Proficiency in creating content for digital and traditional media platforms.
- Experience in managing social media platforms and utilizing social media management tools;
- Familiarity with website management and content management systems (CMS);
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines;
- Excellent written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver key messages to a diverse audience
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and external stakeholders
- Fluency in an Indigenous language is also an asset.
