Compensation
- Salary Grade Range: $50,088.00 - $87,654.00

- Conduct on‑site inspections of diagnostic and therapeutic X‑ray machines across medical, industrial, veterinary, and research environments.
- Evaluate radiation equipment performance using approved testing procedures and radiation detection instrumentation.
- Document inspection findings in detailed technical reports and submit results within required timeframes.
- Maintain current and accurate facility and inspection data in agency databases.
- Review facility documentation and track compliance with state radiation protection regulations.
- Investigate radiological hazards, unsafe practices, equipment malfunctions, and unusual occurrences identified during inspections.
- Recommend corrective actions and safety measures that support maintaining radiation doses As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA).
- Audit facility safety practices and radiation protection procedures to identify gaps requiring remediation.
- Participate in emergency response activities as part of the State Emergency Response Team when assigned.
- Attend required training and continuing education to maintain current knowledge of radiation effects, regulatory requirements, and technical inspection procedures.
