Responsibilities

  • Position Description: We are looking for a Safety Professional to support our Safety Director in our Taylor office.
  • The candidate must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have strong knowledge of safety regulations to support safety programs, conduct audits and training, and provide guidance on compliance.
  • Participate in conducting regular safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations to support a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement in safety.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help ensure alignment with company safety goals, industry standards, and client-specific safety requirements and expectations.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently, manage tasks with minimal supervision, and take initiative in addressing safety concerns.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in safety which includes field experience, preferably in construction, engineering, power utilities, heavy industrial environments, and/or natural gas pipeline operations.
  • The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related scientific field, along with a minimum of seven years of relevant safety experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience with safety management systems (SMS) and incident reporting platforms.
  • Knowledge of federal and state safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, PHMSA, FRA, etc.).
  • Familiarity with drug and alcohol testing programs and procedures including DOT/PHMSA roles.
  • Familiarity with safety pre-qualification platforms such as ISNetworld, Avetta, VeroDMS, Contractor Compliance, etc.
  • Familiarity with Fleet Safety (non-FMCSA) including reviewing driver license records.
  • Advanced skills in data analysis and reporting related to safety metrics.

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present to and train diverse audiences.
  • Excellent driving record.
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in diverse outdoor environments, including construction sites and remote field locations.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and walking long distances-up to one mile-across varying terrain.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience leading safety initiatives in multi-site organizations.
