About the role
- The Data Models team is responsible for the core multi-model data management architecture of IRIS.
- The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in distributed systems, databases, and software architecture with exceptional leadership, organizational influence, and operational discipline.
Responsibilities
- Identify and drive high-impact technical and organizational improvements that materially advance the Data Models organization and IRIS platform capabilities.
- Lead initiatives from concept through operationalization, including implementation, adoption, measurement of impact, and long-term ownership delegation.
- Drive architectural modernization efforts that improve system performance, scalability, concurrency, and operational flexibility.
- Champion engineering best practices, technical rigor, and sustainable software design across the organization.
- Mentor and develop engineering leaders and individual contributors to support long-term career growth and organizational capability building.
- Create operational leverage through effective delegation, process documentation, and ownership distribution.
- Build strong partnerships across engineering, product management, infrastructure, and platform teams to deliver initiatives that span organizational boundaries.
- Drive alignment on shared priorities and promote collaborative execution models that enable enterprise-scale product development.
- Proven success building high-performing engineering cultures focused on accountability, quality, and continuous improvement

Requirements
- 15+ years of software engineering experience with significant experience leading large-scale platform or infrastructure teams
- Experience leading architectural modernization and large technical transformation initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic leadership with deep technical engagement
- College degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or similar
- Maintain a strong understanding of the end-to-end platform architecture and guide long-term architectural decisions that support scalability, flexibility, and maintainability.
Nice to have
- Experience with cloud-native systems, scalability models, and modern software delivery practices preferred
- Familiarity with AI-assisted software development workflows and automation frameworks is highly desirable
