About the role
- About Redwood Materials Redwood is localizing a global battery supply chain that seamlessly integrates recovery, reuse, and recycling - keeping critical minerals in circulation and driving the energy transition.
- As a crucial bridge in our operations, you will coordinate directly with CAM1 operators and R&D scientists to resolve technical questions and ensure data accuracy.
- Because we operate in a fast-paced startup environment, the ideal candidate is a natural multi-tasker who anticipates team needs and steps in to help without being asked.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily routine chemical and physical analysis to support CAM1 production quality control and CAM R&D projects.
- Deliver clear, accurate, and timely data reports to cross-functional teams to ensure production and research timelines are met.
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and fully functional laboratory environment.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain analytical laboratory instrumentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in science or related field or 2+ years of related experience in an analytical laboratory environment.
- Experience in laboratory settings, quality settings, or chemical production facilities.
- Experience in typical laboratory practices including waste handling, safe work practices, data entry and management, good documentation practices and experimental setup and execution.
- Experience with relevant test methods such as ICP-OES, auto-titration, X-Ray Fluorescence, Total Organic Carbon, etc.
- Experience with sample prep and analysis, chemical handling and laboratory hazards.
- Ability to execute with a calm and collaborative urgency.
- Ability to regularly lift 35 lbs.

- Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment including but not limited to lab coats and respirators.
- Demonstrates ability to perform basic chemistry, math and calculations.
- Adept with data acquisition and analysis tools including Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and collaboration skills.
Compensation
- Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
