About the role

The Assistant Swimming Coach is responsible for supporting the athletic and academic development of student-athletes while focusing on student-athlete welfare.

Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree
A valid driver's license required
Must be able to commit at least 25 hours/week, preferably during team practice times - early mornings (6-9 am, MWRF) and later afternoons/evenings (2-6pm M-F) and weekends (sat am 7-11 am)
Successful completion of a background investigation is required for this position.

Master's degree from an accredited institution.
Demonstrated results leading and coaching a high-caliber sports program in a highly competitive, academic environment.
Minimum of 2 years previous coaching experience at the Division I or II Level or Senior National Level (club). (2 year of graduate assistantship experience equals 1 year of professional experience)

The ability to work independently and collaboratively
Strong communication and organizational skills
A strong commitment to the academic achievement of student-athletes.
Ability to represent a public persona that aligns with Mines values.
Ability to work with a diverse community, alumni, Boosters and Mines Foundation.
Ability to work closely with athletic training, and staff to facilitate prevention and recovery from injury of student-athletes.
Ability to help with all aspects of recruiting!
Ability to work more than 30 hours/week and be integrated into our team culture
Ability to attend coaches meetings and team meetings
