About the role

  • Oversee the production and strategic messaging of donor-facing materials (including annual appeals, the NYIC annual report, and project-specific on-pagers) ensuring alignment with organizational narrative and goals.

Responsibilities

  • We represent the collective interests of New York's diverse immigrant communities and organizations and devise solutions to advance them; advocate for laws, policies, and programs that lead to justice and opportunity for all immigrant groups; and build the power of immigrants and the organizations that serve them to ensure their sustainability, to improve people's lives, and to strengthen our state.
  • Design and lead a comprehensive cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategy for donors and prospects; set challenging portfolio goals to diversify organizational revenue.
  • Maintain and actively manage a grassroots donor portfolio and provide strategic direction and support to the Director of Development, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, and President and CEO in managing their respective portfolios.
  • Develop donor communications (including online donation pages, event pages, auto-receipts, and web copy) maintaining timeliness, brand consistency, and donor-centric messaging.
  • Build, refine, and institutionalize data management systems and fundraising infrastructure that support organizational growth and scalability; help team members understand how their work connects to NYIC's strategic mission.
  • Supervise and train associates, interns, and Vista volunteers hired to support individual giving efforts as necessary.
  • Lead individual giving and events strategy for NYIC Action (c4), including donor engagement, events, and project management.
  • Support broader Development team priorities as needed, modeling adaptive leadership and a willingness to drive change in policies, structures, and methods when organizational needs demand it.
  • Qualities Sought 6-8+ years of relevant professional experience in development/ fundraising in the non-profit sector Experience developing and executing donor engagement strategies that increase donor retention, acquisition, and philanthropic investment.
  • The Director will serve as a key partner to NYIC's senior leadership and board, bringing both a data-informed and relationship-centered approach to donor cultivation and solicitation.

Compensation

  • $95,481.00 In addition to a competitive salary, NYIC offers a full benefit plan, unlimited vacation leave after 90 days of employment, paid sick time, commuter benefits and a comprehensive retirement plan.
