Responsibilities

  • Lead the growth of SEH's municipal civil practice in Austin and surrounding Central Texas communities.
  • Build trusted relationships with cities, utilities, counties, developers, partners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Identify client needs and develop practical strategies that convert relationships into projects and long-term accounts.
  • Develop project approaches, scopes, fees, schedules, staffing plans, and quality-management strategies.
  • Lead proposals, interviews, client presentations, and community or public meetings.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a local civil engineering team as backlog and market opportunities grow.
  • Develop and maintain client strategy plans, pursuit priorities, and an accurate opportunity pipeline.
  • Serve as a technical lead on multidisciplined civil engineering projects across Texas, especially in the greater Austin area.
  • Build, do not inherit: Help define the Austin practice, culture, client strategy, and future team.
  • Existing momentum: Build upon current Texas staff, federal experience, private development relationships, and active regional growth plans.

Requirements

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas (required).
  • Proven track record of driving business growth and market expansion in civil engineering.
  • Strong understanding of the Central Texas municipal, utility, regulatory, and development environment.
  • Residence in or near Austin, TX, with strong regional connections and willing to travel throughout Central Texas
  • Flexible and broad technical skills across civil infrastructure disciplines.
  • Comprehensive understanding of public infrastructure funding-federal, state, and local.
  • Demonstrated ability to build client trust and contribute to business development, proposals, interviews, and project pursuit
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience, including team leadership and project management.
  • Ability to build, develop, and guide engineering teams to achieve targeted business outcomes.
  • Confident public communicator who can represent SEH to Councils, Boards, Associations
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and lead effectively in a growing office.

  • Eight (8) years of hands-on experience as a high-performing civil engineer

  • Base compensation is expected to be in the range of $130,000 and $165,000 based on skill set and experience.
  • Due to current business and operational considerations, unable to hire employees residing in the following states at this time: AK, AR, CA, CT, DE, HI, KY, MA, RI, VT, and PR.

Compensation

  • Base compensation is expected to be in the range of $130,000 and $165,000 based on skill set and experience.
