Responsibilities

  • The Shift Supervisor oversees day-to-day workflow, patient throughput, staffing coordination, and real-time problem solving to support smooth movement of patients through the facility and appropriate care at each stage of treatment.
  • This role serves as the on-shift leader and key resource for staff, patients, families, and community partners, while promoting effective communication, regulatory compliance, sound clinical operations, and optimal use of resources to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Oversee the operation of the assigned unit and shift to ensure the clinical team is operating efficiently, smoothly, and consistently to support high-quality clinical care and outcomes.
  • Manages escalated concerns/problems from internal and external stakeholders. Actively assesses and manages barriers that impact flow through the facility.
  • Assists with training and orientation of new staff to unit processes and procedures. Partners with discipline manager to ensure full orientation to position.
  • Partners with clinical and administrative managers to identify and manage performance and behavior issues.
  • Is trained in and able to perform Safe Clinch techniques and provide oversight and guidance.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • At least 5 years' experience as a direct clinical care provider in Nursing, Social Services, Administrative or Milieu support (BHS/RSS)
