About the role

  • NWACC offers a full range of associate degrees, certificates and workforce training programs that prepare students for rewarding futures and careers.
  • This position reports directly to the Director of Enrollment Services and works in close collaboration with the Executive Director of Athletics.

Responsibilities

  • The Athletic Enrollment Advisor will participate in an integrated, student-centered approach to support student-athlete success with an emphasis on retention, academic progress, eligibility compliance, and overall student-athlete development.
  • This position serves as the primary academic support and eligibility compliance resource for NWACC Athletics and works collaboratively with Enrollment Services, Academic Affairs, Financial Aid, Admissions, Records, Coaching Staffs, and Student Support Services.
  • Provides academic advising and student success support specifically for NWACC student-athletes
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary to support the goals and objectives of the department and college

Requirements

  • Experience advising a specialized student population
  • The following physical activities described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Infrequently, exposure to louder noise levels or physical activities, such as moving lightweight materials, might be required.

Nice to have

  • Experience advising NJCAA and/or NCAA student-athletes
  • Experience working with student-athletes, athletics, or athletic eligibility processes preferred
  • Knowledge of NJCAA and/or NCAA eligibility standards, transfer requirements, and compliance processes

  • Knowledge of the organization and administration of various higher education academic and social programs
  • Knowledge of campus and community resources
  • Knowledge of state, federal, and campus rules, regulations, and requirements related to campus academic and social programs
  • Ability to coordinate the activities of campus academic and/or social programs
  • Ability to evaluate collected information and formulate into recommendations
  • Ability to compile information into report form

Compensation

  • Rate of Pay: $41,107 annualized *Higher compensation may be considered based on qualifications directly related to position.
