About the role

Responsibilities

  • Eversource is looking for a Distribution Design Associate Engineer to be located in Stamford, CT.
  • An entry-level position within the Distribution Design Engineer (DDE) progression reporting to an Engineering Lead.
  • This position will provide the individual with experience and training necessary for advancement to the fully qualified level of Distribution Design Engineer.
  • Duties will include assisting in identifying improvements and major repair needs on the distribution system, providing engineering support to Field Engineering Design for certain customer additions and assisting with system improvements for assigned circuits.
  • Individual will also assist the DDE/Lead with developing recommendations on equipment replacement vs repair to maximize Return on Asset (ROA).

Requirements

  • Real Estate Department and Customer to negotiate easements as required.
  • Provide reports as required.
  • Works with DDE/Lead in the development of distribution projects and will be required to present to the Connecticut Project Authorization Committee CTPAC for approval.

Nice to have

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required, Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Zero (0) to Three (3) years of equivalent experience in Energy Delivery is preferred.

Skills

  • Knowledge of distribution systems is desired.
  • Knowledgeable of various computer applications including Microsoft Office. Circuit analysis software skills preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must hold a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required, Electrical Engineering preferred

Compensation

  • The annual salary range for this position is $82,000-88,000, plus incentive.
  • Salary progresses in accordance with the union contract.
