About the role
- ERG offers multidisciplinary teams with nationally recognized skills in engineering, science, economics, public health, informational technology, and communications.
- The position is located at a federal site in Indian Head, Maryland.
- Indian Head is approximately 30 miles from Washington, DC, 25 miles from Alexandria, VA, and 60 miles from Fredericksburg, VA.
Responsibilities
- ERG is a research and consulting firm that provides a wide range of support to federal, state, and commercial clients.
- This position will be full-time at the federal site in Indian Head, MD, and will include interaction and support from ERG personnel at the federal site, as well as from ERG's Fairfax and Arlington offices.
Requirements
- The qualified individual must be highly motivated with the skills to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Skills
- 5+ years of experience with fire alarm technician duties, installing and repairing fixtures and components and related systems
- NICET Level I certification
- Demonstrated experience with NFPA 1, NFPA 101, NFPA 10, NFPA 13, NFPA 15, NFPA 20, NFPA 25, NFPA 30, and NFPA 72
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate/communicate effectively
- Excellent verbal/written communication, problem solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
- Experience repairing, troubleshooting and testing fire alarm systems
- This position will require a pre-employment physical exam
- This position requires lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds
- You may be required to participate in medical surveillance programs
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and reach during shifts
- Must be able to use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items
- The salary range for all positions depends on the years and type of experience.
