About the role
- Assist with moving equipment and/or furniture;
- Assist in checking all work performed by outside contractors;
- This person follows routine safety precautions and ensures safety procedures are followed at all times.
Responsibilities
- The Maintenance Technician I will troubleshoot issues quickly, repair/replace parts/equipment and collaborate with contracted maintenance specialists to perform repairs.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and multi-task within specific timelines.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be highly self-motivated.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment in a calm and proficient manner.
- Basic knowledge of the use and operation of hand tools, power tools, and equipment such as hammers, hoists, drills, and wrenches, precision measuring devices and electrical testing devices.
- Basic knowledge of proper safety techniques and procedures.
- Basic knowledge of how to safely mix, transfer and dispose of construction materials such as concrete, paint, cleaning chemicals, adhesives, and plasters.
- Experience working in a non-profit/human service setting with a similar target population, including homeless, poor, substance users, and persons with mental illness helpful.
