About the role

  • Medical Technologist is responsible for specimen processing, test performance and for reporting test results.
  • Adheres to quality control procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency standards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or job performance.
  • Performs high complexity test specimen analysis in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Evaluates, interprets and validates high complexity test data prior to reporting.
  • Maintains daily operations of the laboratory/department to include but not limited to calibration and maintenance of equipment; maintains adequate working inventory.
  • Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
  • Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and development; meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements.
  • Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments relevant to job performance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

  • Minimum Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science, biology, or chemistry Certifications and Licenses
  • Healthcare Provider CPR Certification
  • Current or eligible for Montana State licensure as a Medical Technologist or ability to become licensed
