About the role

  • The Pima County Department of Finance & Risk Management is seeking a motivated, team-oriented individual to join its Budget Division.
  • include reviewing transactions for compliance with the chart of accounts, projecting year-end expenditures, and completing detailed ad hoc projects.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the preparation, analysis, review, and monitoring of Countywide budgets, personnel changes, and funding adjustments under guidance;
  • Assists with gathering and organizing budgetary and financial data to support studies on the feasibility of initiating or expanding programs or services;
  • Supports inventory reconciliations to help ensure proper controls are in place to safeguard County assets;
  • Tracks and compiles information on proposed and current legislation under direction to support impact analysis and compliance efforts;
  • Performs other entry-level duties as assigned to support departmental and Countywide goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, economics, business or public administration, or a closely related field, as defined by the department head at the time of recruitment.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with department contacts to develop a strong understanding of County operations.

Compensation

  • $56,555 - $79,164 Annually
  • Hiring Range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.
  • Pay Range is the entire compensation range for the position.
  • The successful candidate will assist in developing the annual operating budget and monitoring adopted budgets through monthly analyses, analytical tools, and reporting.
  • This position is responsible for assisting with the development, preparation, and administration of annual budgets for County departments.
  • Compiles and organizes data for inclusion in the annual Countywide budget documents and assists in reconciling financial data under supervision;
