About the role
- We're looking for a dedicated software engineer skilled in both front-end and back-end development to join our Motors Engineering team in Toronto.
- This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working across the full technology stack, solving challenging technical problems, writing high-quality code, and continuously learning in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality full stack software for eBay Motors products and services.
- Build responsive, accessible, and performant web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Develop scalable backend services, APIs, and business logic that power customer experiences.
- Collaborate with Product Management, UX Design, Data Science, and Quality Engineering to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and architectural decisions.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement durable, long-term solutions.
- Professional experience building full stack web applications.
- Experience developing backend services using Java, Kotlin, or another modern object-oriented programming language.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Marko, Vue
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and experience integrating frontend applications with backend services.
- Experience with Git, automated testing, and continuous integration and delivery workflows.
Nice to have
- Experience with GraphQL and designing solutions based APIs.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, cloud platforms (AWS or GCP), and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
- Interest in automotive technology or eCommerce platforms.

- Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience.
