About the role
- We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer that'll be focused on our front-end tech stack to help us scale and evolve the web applications that power Kin's customer and internal experiences.
- As we expand our products and enter new markets, our in-house systems must remain fast, resilient, and intuitive.
- You'll work on a small, highly collaborative team, independently owning and operating complex features across our Angular and Web Component-based applications.
Responsibilities
- Own the design, development, and delivery of complex front-end features using Typescript, Angular (2+), Lit, HTML, and SCSS
- Integrate front-end applications with APIs, including defining contracts and collaborating on API design
- Drive performance optimization, accessibility improvements, and UX enhancements across applications
- Lead and participate in pair programming, code reviews, and technical design discussions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and backend engineering partners to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Cross-functional partners report increased confidence in engineering delivery due to thoughtful collaboration and proactive problem-solving
Requirements

Nice to have
- Experience working with Ruby on Rails APIs
- Familiarity with BEM methodology, Object-Oriented CSS principles, and custom component library development
- Experience contributing to architectural decisions in a startup or high-growth environment
- Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving priorities
- Ability to operate independently with limited technical guidance
- Strong communication skills and cross-functional collaboration experience
- Located in Central or Eastern US time zones (CDT or EDT) strongly preferred
