Performs all construction, carpentry and maintenance items and projects that fall under the maintenance department.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discrimination in sound.
Reviews specifications and blueprints, sketches or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
Operates and conducts routine preventive maintenance on College vehicles; notifies appropriate personnel of any vehicle maintenance required.
High School Diploma or GED required.
At least three (3) years of carpentry work experience required.

Prepares work order material by pulling from stock to meet technical and trade requirements.
Adheres to safety and health regulations.
Demonstrated commitment to achieving the vision and mission of South Texas College.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of students, customers or employees of organization.
