About the role

  • The Data Presales Solution Architect is a senior client-facing role at the intersection of data strategy, analytics architecture, and consultative sales.
  • Work includes governance assessments, analytics modernization, platform consolidation, real-time intelligence, managed services positioning, and AI-readiness programs built on a governed and trusted data foundation.
  • They can engage credibly with business and technical stakeholders, bring clarity to complex decisions, and apply AI acceleration responsibly with sound governance, validation, security, and engineering judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end data platforms on Microsoft Fabric and Azure Databricks, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, Lakeflow Connect, Spark, semantic models, and Real-Time Intelligence where needed.
  • Design scalable, auditable analytics environments using medallion architecture, Delta Lake principles, and Power BI/Fabric-native reporting patterns.
  • Maintain current expertise across Fabric, Azure Databricks, Purview, Unity Catalog, Power BI, Synapse, Copilot in Fabric, AI functions, and the evolving Microsoft data and AI roadmap.
  • Partner with Account Executives to advance opportunities with strong technical credibility and strategic recommendations.
  • Own the technical narrative in RFPs, proposals, competitive pursuits, executive briefings, and Statements of Work.
  • Develop estimates, pricing approaches, business cases, and tailored solution proposals.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on Microsoft data platform experience with strong consultative presales skills and executive presence.
  • Education
  • University degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Experience
  • 7+ years in data architecture, data engineering, analytics consulting, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years in presales, solution architecture, or a customer-facing advisory role.
  • Proven experience designing enterprise data platforms with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, or comparable modern analytics platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview, Unity Catalog or equivalent governance tools for cataloging, metadata, lineage, and control frameworks.
  • Practical experience enabling semantic models, metadata, and governance for Copilot, natural-language query, and agentic access patterns.
  • Strong track record leading discovery, writing proposals, sizing engagements, delivering executive presentations, and advancing deals.
  • Certifications

Nice to have

  • Experience governing Fabric, OneLake, Lakehouse, and Warehouse assets and applying compliance frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA, SOX, and HIPAA.
  • Analytics and Business Intelligence
  • Experience preparing semantic models and metadata to improve Copilot, data agent relevance, trust, and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of data literacy enablement and migration paths from Azure Analysis Services to Fabric-based models.
  • Data Architecture and Engineering
  • Experience with Azure services such as Data Factory, Azure SQL, Synapse, Cosmos DB, and Azure AI Search.
  • Presales and Client Engagement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage both C-suite stakeholders and technical architects.

Skills

  • Microsoft Fabric Platform
  • Experience with Real-Time Intelligence, including Eventstream, KQL databases, and Reflex.
  • Azure Databricks Platform
