About the role
- The DOC is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees, visitors, volunteers and people in our custody.
- Importantly, safe jails enable DOC to provide people in custody with the tools and opportunities they need to successfully re-enter their communities.
- The DOC operates facilities and court commands across the five boroughs with more than 7,500 diverse professionals and knowledgeable experts.
Responsibilities
- Perform administrative functions which include responding to emails, copying, filing and faxing.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate must be able to walk and/or stand in an assigned area for approximately eight (8) hours continuously.

- Efficiently assess, design and conduct fitness and wellness trainings to improve strength, endurance, mobility, injury prevention, and stress management for candidates and correction staff.
- Exercise the ability to set up gym equipment, run and lift up to 150lbs.
- Conduct individual and group fitness training and wellness exercises for uniform and non uniform staff at various department locations.
