About the role
- This role is perfect for audit professionals already working with Texas or Louisiana sales Tax audits looking to expand their Sales & Use tax experience while focusing exclusively on audit, recovery, and advisory work.
- Assist in review preparation, including reconciliation to trial balance reports and other data analysis.
- Gather and examine documentation such as invoices, purchase orders, and tax returns.
Responsibilities
- The Tax Consultant will gain experience and assist team members in providing support to DMA clients through Sales & Use Tax audit defense, reverse audits, and overpayment recovery engagements.
- In this role, you'll dive deep into transactional data, identify refund opportunities, perform multi-state tax research, collaborate with taxing authorities, and deliver measurable savings to clients.
- Support the compilation of client reports, refund claims, and training materials.
- Provide support to Senior Tax Consultants, Tax Managers, and Directors.
- Create schedules of invoices and supporting documents.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and sounds
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employment-based visa sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Experience in tax research and issue resolution preferred.

- Strong problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
