About the role
- Phlebotomists are responsible for collection and procurement of blood and human specimens in the clinical and non clinical setting.
- Demonstrates competency in patient identification, specimen collection, labeling, accessioning, and processing.
- Understands the criteria for specimen acceptability and rejection.
Responsibilities
- This role is an important component of patient experience, and the individual is expected to collaborate with clinical and non clinical counterparts to provide a safe environment that promotes the best possible outcomes.
- As a phlebotomist, you'll support Geisinger's mission of providing exceptional patient care through innovative, efficient, and high-quality laboratory services.
Requirements
- Required to follow supplemental safety protocols at any non-Geisinger facilities.
- Required to carry the mobile phlebotomy toolkit. ability to carry/lift 15 pounds.
- 1-2 years of experience or if you graduated from Geisinger's School of Phlebotomy Program
Compensation
- Requires initial and annual competency via Learning Management System which includes an exam and direct observation checklist.
