About the role
- Our teams take on challenging projects that keep communities safe, supply chains moving, and the country connected.
- Duties and Responsibilities - Participate in the development of the Project Quality Plan.
- Working Conditions - Travel - If supporting multiple projects, travel is 50-80% of position.
Responsibilities
- For a single project, the position requires 100% in-person support.
- Communicate and implement plan ensuring compliance to Ames' Quality Management System and project specific requirements.
- Identify, document and mitigate potential quality risks through pre-activity meetings and project quality walks.
- Review work plans and supplemental documents to ensure quality activities are incorporated.
- Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all quality documents and records.
- Drive a continuous improvement culture by identifying and implementing best practices.
- Document project quality activities & performance per defined frequency.
- Train project team(s) on applicable QMS processes, including tools and system support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or relevant work experience.
- 2-5 years of relevant technical, quality or construction experience.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems in a collaborative approach with coworkers.
- Must be self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency.
- Possess high attention to detail with the ability to recognize deficiencies.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment and adjust priorities based on evolving project changes.
- Must have a valid driver's license and ability to pass MVR.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Outlook, SharePoint, Project Management software.
- Working Conditions
- Travel - If supporting multiple projects, travel is 50-80% of position. For a single project, the position requires 100% in-person support.
- Office environment - extensive sitting at desk and computer
Nice to have
- Knowledge of construction standards/specifications (USACE, DOT, ASTM, ACI, AASHTO) preferred.
Compensation
- Base salary range is $90,000-$120,000 a year, which varies depending on many factors, including experience, skills, and knowledge.
