About the role

  • This is an event-driven architecture built on Kafka and SQS, supporting both foundational infrastructure used across the company and product-facing integration features.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build integrations
  • Contribute to system design for new third-party integrations, from OAuth2 connection through data sync
  • Help standardize and generalize integration patterns to make future integrations faster to build
  • Design clean, well-structured APIs to support integration features and platform services
  • Collaborate with the team
  • Bring senior-level experience and judgment to technical discussions and design decisions

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with meaningful time in backend/distributed systems
  • Strong experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, SQS, or similar)
  • Familiarity with the third-party API integration problem domain (OAuth2, webhooks, rate limits)
  • Strong experience in at least one backend language (Python, Java, or similar), with the willingness and ability to ramp up in Python
  • Comfort navigating and improving an established, production codebase

  • Software Engineer positions offer a base pay range of $180,000 - $210,000, plus equity and benefits.
