About the role

  • In our Federal Affairs Office, interns conduct legislative and policy research; monitor Congressional hearings; draft fact sheets and other written materials on a wide range of federal drug policy reform issues; track and analyze federal legislation; participate in internal and external meetings, including Congressional meetings; assist in planning meetings and convenings; monitor federal drug policy activities; conduct outreach to partners and allies; and perform various administrative tasks.

Nice to have

  • Current student pursuing a Bachelor's degree/Master's Degree.
  • Must demonstrate strong interest in DPA's work to end the drug war.
  • Solid written, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.

Skills

  • This is an unpaid remote internship.
  • Gain hands-on experience working with passionate drug policy experts on meaningful projects.
  • Our fall internship program begins Tuesday, September 8 and ends on Friday, December 11.
  • Interns may work up to 20 hours per week.
  • The exact schedule will be set collaboratively between the intern and their supervisor.
