About the role
- Join Centre College as we recruit exceptional faculty and staff!
- Primary duties include assisting the Residence Life & Housing Office in areas of leadership, education and training, residential curriculum, RA supervision, and assisting in coordinating campus housing.
- The Area Coordinator (AC) is responsible for creating and maintaining a comprehensive residential environment that is academically and socially stimulating.
Responsibilities
- Develop meaningful working relationships with RAs through one-on-one meetings and staff meetings;
- Implement community development strategies aligned with the residential curriculum;
- Manage a budget used for programming and student staff development within the residential area;
- Provide support for and direction to the Residence Life & Housing student staff;
- Conduct regular building walk-throughs;
Requirements
- Occasional night and weekend work is required.

- Work collaboratively with Facilities Management and Public Safety to create a safe environment conducive to learning by monitoring work orders, repairs and safety concerns;
- Respond to crisis situations including but not limited to facilities related emergencies, medical emergencies, mental health emergencies, and behavioral concerns as part of the professional staff on-call rotation.
- Aid in the development and implementation of learning outcomes and assessment procedures for Residence Life & Housing;
- Master's Degree preferred in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field preferred.
- Willingness to work flexible schedule, which may include evening and weekend hours, as required
