About the role

  • Plans and conduct occupational therapy programs in hospital, institutional, or community settings to help individuals recover from illness, injury, or developmental or psychological conditions.
  • Administers treatments to improve self-care, daily living skills, communication, mobility, cognitive function, social integration, and play/leisure skills.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate sound clinical reasoning to develop and update a comprehensive plan of care in collaboration with the patient and family, including measurable short- and long-term goals and a defined discharge plan.
  • Maintain timely, legible, and efficient patient care documentation that meets professional and departmental standards. Provide clear, concise, and pertinent oral reports.
  • Design, provide, and train patients and families in the use of assistive technology, devices, orthotics, prosthetics, splints, and environmental adaptations to support occupational performance.
