About the role

  • Reporting to the Administrative Project Manager, the selected candidate responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 1.
  • Evaluate performance of contractors in accordance with Ventilation Projects protocols and procedures; report discrepancies and/or unsatisfactory performance.
  • When appropriate, issue field memoranda to Vendors to enforce contract compliance issues.

Responsibilities

  • Review and recommend action with regard to Vendor's proposed schedule to ensure appropriate sequencing of construction activities, expedite the work and minimize interference with the building's functioning.
  • Maintain accurate, complete and current project records and update project management system accordingly.
  • Work with the project management team as well as the Vendor regarding change orders, interpretation of documents, shop drawing approvals, and other architectural and engineering related issues.
  • Maintain familiarity with applicable building codes and governmental regulations.

Requirements

  • Due to the existence of a civil service list, candidates must have permanent civil service status in the title of Associate Inspector (Housing Construction) to be considered.
  • All candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above, which must have been in a supervisory capacity.

Nice to have

  • At least one year of experience, as described in "1" above, which must have been in a supervisory capacity, plus completion of an approved five year apprenticeship program in housing construction inspection
