About the role

  • As a Founding Designer at Metriport, you'll spend your time understanding customer workflows, defining the right solution to those problems, and making sure everything we ship - product, marketing, brand - looks and feels right.
  • The tradeoff is that the scope is wide and the bar is high.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the design system Establish a coherent design language - components, spacing, typography, color - that is simple and that engineers can build to without hand-holding.
  • Design features end to end Take features from rough concept to detailed spec, working closely with founders, PM, and engineers to ship solutions that are functional and feel considered.
  • Talk to, and advocate for, users Understand their workflows, form an opinionated view on the right solution, and drive toward it.
  • Own brand and marketing design Design across all marketing surfaces - website, sales collateral, event materials. You're the person we turn to when anything needs to look good.

  • Pragmatism: You know what to polish and what to ship.
  • Technical literacy: You know enough about how software gets built to write specs engineers can use and have real tradeoff conversations.

  • Data lives in PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, S3, Snowflake, HAPI FHIR servers, and more.
