Responsibilities
- Support the execution of consulting projects and lead project planning, budgeting, and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives.
- Document design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring project design progress related to percent complete and fee expended.
- Analyze engineering problems and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions.
- Provide in-process design reviews of electrical system design, calculations, and specifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.
- Lead design efforts for the analysis of electrical systems, using engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards.
- Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, communicate technical information effectively, and build and maintain client relationships through professional communication.
- Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements.
- Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings
- PE, SE, and other license exam prep and support, with a clear path from EIT to PE
Requirements
- Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
- and proficiency in the use of BIM software and CTC Revit Add In Tools
- Proficiency in Smart Engineering Design Assist (SET) Tools within Revit for electrical calculations, coordination,, etc.
- Knowledge of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
- Required Skills/Abilities:
Nice to have
- 3 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
- Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred
- 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry
Skills
- Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards
- Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays
- Engineering In Training (EIT) Certification preferred
