About the role

  • We're looking for a top‑tier Research Scientist to join our tech team.
  • Prototype, train, and evaluate new models for factual search and multimodal understanding
  • Master the technical scope of your domain and raise the bar for scientific and engineering rigor

Responsibilities

  • Lead Research for Linkup
  • Design and implement state-of-the-art retrieval and ranking systems for AI agents
  • Build robust research pipelines, develop, deploy, and iterate on experiments end-to-end
  • Collaborate on research roadmaps and drive key modeling and evaluation decisions
  • Own large cross-functional initiatives from exploration to production

  • Build and maintain an evaluations framework to measure the progress of our search engine
  • Design a RL framework to integrate AI preferences into our ranking algorithm
  • These digital entities can create more value for humanity than we ever could alone, but they depend on the internet to operate, collaborate, take action, and gather information.
  • To perform well, they require information that is current, reliable, and context‑specific-not the diffuse, steadily aging knowledge frozen at their last training cut‑off.

Requirements

  • Bring hands-on experience with LLMs, NLP, embeddings, or information retrieval systems
  • The ideal candidate will play a central role in our team, partnering closely with the founders to spearhead groundbreaking products.

Nice to have

  • PhD is preferred, MS. is a must. (5y of experience minimum)
