About the role
- ensures their alignment and optimization with the Company's strategic objectives.
- Ensure familiarity with scope and project objectives and establish clear roles and responsibilities for project team members.
- Work with constituent project managers to monitor cost, schedule and technical performance.
Responsibilities
- Manage a collection of projects and/or programs undertaken by an organization or division.
- Ensure execution of tasks defined in the project plan to achieve the project goals. Execute all parts of the project plan and manage the budget/forecast. Monitor and control project work including change controls.
- Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis.
- Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
- Manages a team of 20+ directly and indirectly and 100+ on a project team basis
- Improve project team performance by building team cohesiveness, leading, mentoring, training and motivating to facilitate cooperation, ensure project efficiency and boost morale.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years' proven project management experience,
- OR in lieu of a degree,
- Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent software packages.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly an ability to negotiate, influence and gain consensus.
- Ability to work individually as well as a member of a team.
- Ability to function professionally at many different levels (clients, management and peers).
- identify and quantify variances, complete any required corrective actions, and communicate to all stakeholders.
- Implement approved actions and workarounds required to mitigate project risk events.
- Must be familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and responsibility of each team member, to effectively coordinate team activities.
Compensation
- M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees.
- The pay range for this position is $128,900.00 - $214,900.00 Annual (USD).
- The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
- The range listed above corresponds to our national pay range for this role.
- The specific pay range applicable to you may vary based on your location.
- Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.
