About the role

  • The primary responsibility of this position is to identify and resolve complex legal issues as a member of the company-wide legal team.
  • This role will be responsible for assisting with reviewing, assessing, drafting, negotiating, and revising a broad range of contracts.
  • The position will also work cross-functionally with relevant divisions, marketing managers, agents and other stakeholders to ensure timely routing, approval, and execution of such contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage contract tracking and oversee the end-to-end contract workflow across ESM Brand Marketing and Game Seven teams;
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including Legal and Finance, to streamline contracting workflows;
  • Proactively follow up with internal teams and external partners on contract status, signatures, and the progress of master agreements and scopes of work;
  • Leads significant projects, both within the legal department and across a variety of functions; and

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of contacts, including outside counsel, executive and senior management, and business associates;

Nice to have

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school;
  • Admission to NY State Bar (preferred);
  • 2-4 years of legal experience in a law firm, in-house counsel, or other relevant legal experience.

Skills

  • Ability to work independently, while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams;
  • Experience in sports, media or entertainment industry law department or at law firm in relevant practice group strongly preferred;
  • Solid analytic skills, creative problem-solving abilities and a practical business-oriented viewpoint;
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize and produce quality work within deadlines;
  • Outstanding drafting and organizational skills; and
  • Presentation skills for purposes of, among other things, advising internal clients on risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Compensation

  • $100,000- $120,000 per year.
  • Please note that the foregoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the New York City Salary Transparency Law.
  • Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
