About the role
- Freese and Nichols is seeking an Estimator to join our Program Management team in Houston, Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, or Pearland, Texas.

Responsibilities
- Support multiple projects and project teams at the same time across various project phases from inception through close-out
- Use industry resources such as cost databases, software systems, and standards to develop completed estimates
- Assist Lead Estimator with developing standard cost estimating processes companywide
- Coordinate with construction management support resources across the company to complete estimates
- Assist with estimates for conceptual, schematic design, design development, and construction documents phases
- Ability to use company and industry historical data to support cost estimates
- Ability to maintain consistent communication with other estimators
- As Estimator, you will support project teams with cost estimating across multiple projects and stages of the project lifecycle, helping develop reliable budgets, detailed estimates, and cost analyses for a variety of infrastructure programs.
- Ability to support cost database maintenance
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, Requests for Proposals, and contracts
- Ability to assist with order-of-magnitude, preliminary, definitive, change order, and check estimates using appropriate methods and techniques
- Experience in mechanical and electrical estimating
- Knowledge of various cost estimating software
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project
- Knowledge of Primavera
- Ability to contribute across estimating disciplines including facilities, transportation, water/wastewater, heavy civil, and structural
