About the role
- Works under the supervision of the Nurse manager and the Director and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating the total nursing care of assigned patients.
- The RN may work in a variety of settings in the Critical Care/Telemetry Complex and roles within Riverside Health System.
- Responsible for supervising and delegating non-professional personnel working directly with him/her to ensure optimum patient care.
Responsibilities
- Partners with patients and families to develop, implement and evaluate plan of care, treatments and procedures that contribute to the physiological and psychosocial outcomes of the patient.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in the coordination care.
- Ability to delegate and prioritize tasks appropriately to facilitate quality patient care and ensure patient care needs are met. Able to recognize and respond to emergency situations. Evaluates own needs for support and uses identified systems to meet need.
- The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity.
- Evaluates for patient comprehension and documents.
Requirements
- Nursing Degree required - ADN, BSN, or MSN. (Required)
- Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation consistently per RHS standards and regulatory requirements.

- Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) (Required)
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Required)
- ACLS Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Required within 90 days of start)

- $36.50 - $50.23/HourlyActual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
- Demonstrates understanding of diverse patient care populations and ability to modify education method to ensure patient/family comprehension.
- Educates by assuming responsibility to individualize and coordinate patient education, and discharge specific education that includes family/caregiver.
