About the role
- System Administrators are responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and security of an organization's computer systems.
- This role requires an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.
- Generate reports on system performance, capacity, and security. - Automation and Optimization: Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and streamline system administration processes.
Responsibilities
- System Configuration and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and software patches. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
- Security Management: Implement security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access, viruses, and other cyber threats. Conduct regular security audits and apply patches and updates as needed.
- Helpdesk Support: Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, setting up user accounts, and resolving connectivity issues.
- Backup and Recovery: Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions to protect data integrity and minimize downtime. Test backup systems regularly to ensure reliability.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Generate reports on system performance, capacity, and security.
- Automation and Optimization: Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and streamline system administration processes. Implement automation tools and scripts to improve efficiency.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to support organizational goals and initiatives. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.

Requirements
- Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access required.
- 5 years of experience in IT support, system administration or a related role.
Nice to have
- Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation
- 100,000 - 130,000 DOE
- Clearance: Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility
