Responsibilities
- Maintain the highest journalistic standards in every story you cover. We expect you'll report stories accurately and honestly, treat sources with fairness and empathy, and hold yourself accountable when you make a mistake.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field
- Strong understanding of journalism ethics and best practices with a minimum of three years of experience in broadcast journalism or a related field
- Experience with shooting video, video editing for broadcast and digital platforms
- Ability to generate creative, engaging, content-driven live shots
- Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to work days, nights and weekends as needed

- This employee will anchor our weekend morning newscasts, plus report three days a week for our morning newscast.
- The ideal candidate for this job will embrace both the reporting and anchoring aspects of this job.
- On the anchoring side, we want someone who brings authenticity and energy to the newscast.
- As a morning reporter, you must embrace the challenge and excitement of breaking news.
- You will also have opportunities to pitch and produce original stories tailored for our morning audience.
- Your reel should demonstrate strong shooting and editing skills.
Compensation
- Regardless of participation in TEGNA medical plans, ALL employees and their eligible family members receive nine free virtual doctor's appointments with a physician through Teladoc, and 12 free annual therapy sessions with a licensed clinic
