  • This role will report to Facilities Manager and based in Newark, DE.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on buildings and building systems requested by clients.
  • Interacts courteously with the client staff, vendors and public; maintains effective working relationships with other staff; cooperates with and follows directions of Supervisor to effectively meet departmental and client objectives.
  • Inspects completed work for conformance with requirements of local building and safety codes.
  • Ability to multitask and have the ability to manage multiple projects at a time.

Requirements

  • Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance
  • Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed
  • Hearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staff
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours per shift
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in required areas (safety glasses, safety-toed boots).

Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • 3 + years of proven facilities experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Systems (CMMS) preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently with cross functional team
  • Ability to understand and resolve Facilities/Equipment repair issues independently
  • Superior communication skills (written, verbal, and active listening)
  • Highly motivated self-starter, capable of self-management with little to no oversight
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to establish effective cross-functional working relationships
  • Must have knowledge of MS Office including Power Point, Excel, and Word
  • Strong knowledge of skilled trades, such as HVAC, electrical or carpentry
  • Excellent understanding of mechanical systems and parts
