  • Tooling Engineer I is responsible for assisting in the management of the tooling required to manufacture Gentex components at the supply base using the following types of tooling: plastic injection molds, die cast tools or stamping tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with part Design for Manufacturing (DFM) analysis, mold filling simulation analysis, and internal tooling design reviews to specify the tooling requirements.
  • Assist with maintaining tool tracking data (APQP) for communication of existing and upcoming new tool builds or tool changes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams regarding VA/VE projects that may affect tooling.
  • Fostering teamwork - Building effective partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Communicating effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey clear understanding, considering the unique needs of different audiences.
  • Knowledge Development - Continuously develop knowledge of Tooling Engineering methods to support Gentex business processes and culture.
  • Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience related to the tool design, development and launch of injection mold tools, die cast tools or stamping tools and knowledge of 3D computer aided design (CAD) software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
