Responsibilities
- Prepare preliminary layouts, detailed design drawings, and construction documents for civil site design projects using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Develop and coordinate site plans, grading and drainage plans, utility plans, erosion control plans, storm and sewer profiles, and related drawing packages.
- Design grading and drainage systems that shape land elevations to direct stormwater safely to inlets, detention, or retention facilities and protect sites from flooding.
- Support access and circulation design for roadways, drive aisles, parking lots, sidewalks, and pedestrian connections to promote safe and efficient vehicle and foot traffic.
- Assist with building orientation and site layout to support project goals such as functionality, visibility, sunlight exposure, and overall site efficiency.
- Perform earthwork analysis, quantity takeoffs, and cut/fill calculations based on existing and proposed topography.
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, constructability, and compliance with company drafting and design standards.
- Coordinate with engineers, designers, and project managers to maintain design consistency, manage revisions, and meet project schedules.
- Organize and maintain project files, drawing revisions, plot files, and related documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of digital terrain modeling, earthwork analysis, and construction control concepts such as alignments, stationing, and control points.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to review work for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Experience in site development or civil site design drafting.
- Experience preparing site plans, grading and drainage plans, utility layouts, and related civil design documents.
- Understanding of zoning requirements, permitting considerations, and applicable local design standards.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, adapt in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong written, verbal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Aided Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred
- technical degree or drafting certification is a plus.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Civil 3D experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a plus.
