About the role

  • FMS Aerospace is currently seeking a full-time Electrical Engineering Technician for our Huntsville office location.
  • This position requires someone interested in avionics and electrical systems for various aircraft.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate, discuss, and listen to design challenges with management and teammates, etc.
  • The candidate shall be expected to display keen attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and support others in the shop throughout the company, both technically and as teammates.

Nice to have

  • Experience soldering and/or hand crimping
  • Familiarity with analog and digital electronics
  • Familiar with using a digital multimeter
  • Interest in aviation airframe modifications is recommended
  • A&P certification or relevant certifications are a plus
  • DoD or Military background is a plus

  • FMS is located in Huntsville, AL within minutes of the cultural center of downtown Huntsville.

Skills

  • soldering iron, wire cutter/stripper/crimper, screwdriver, hand drill, Windows PC, digital multi-meter, etc.
  • Provide offsite & onsite assistance and installation of electrical systems
  • Mentored by avionics and electrical engineering technicians and junior level electrical engineers within the company
  • 2-4 years' experience in avionics and/or electrical wiring systems
  • Minimum of a high school diploma/GED
  • IPC-620 certification is a must
  • Experience reading electrical drawings
  • Experience in a production/manufacturing setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work proficiently with remotely located employees as well as in a team environment
  • Required Qualifications
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Must be U.S. citizen
