About the role

  • What this Job Entails: The Network Operations Engineer III is a senior-level role that focuses on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of both optical and IP networks.
  • The engineer will address a wide range of complex network issues, working on diverse problems with minimal supervision.
  • This role requires a deep understanding of optical and IP networking, hardware technologies, and network management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize hardware technologies to maintain network performance and capacity.
  • Address network traffic issues and respond to queries raised by XFNs and partners.
  • Collaborate with XFNs and vendors to resolve network-related problems promptly and effectively.
  • Support network infrastructure projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams on new network initiatives.
  • Ability to perform office-related tasks, including prolonged sitting or standing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S/B.A) from a four-year college or university, with 5 to 8 years of related experience and/or training
  • high degree of independence, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Take on other duties as required, contributing to the overall success and reliability of the network infrastructure.

Nice to have

  • Experience working in a multi-vendor network environment.
  • Relevant network certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIP, OCA, or equivalent.
  • Physical Demand & Work Environment:
  • Capability to move within an office environment and effectively use a computer.
  • Must have strong communication skills for effective collaboration and coordination.
  • Occasional repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers may be required.
  • This position offers the opportunity to work independently on complex network operations tasks while playing a critical role in maintaining and optimizing a global network infrastructure.

Skills

  • Proven experience in optical networking (DWDM, CWDM) and IP networking (IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, BGP, OSPF).
  • Strong judgment in selecting appropriate methods and techniques for obtaining network solutions.
  • Experience in preparing root cause analysis reports for network and server outages.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of effectively working with global service providers, colocation facilities, and ISPs.
  • Engage in day-to-day troubleshooting, working with multiple vendor equipment, and resolving various software and hardware issues.

Compensation

  • $85,120.00 - $134,400.00 USD (Salary)
