About the role
- Provide strategic leadership while directing management for projects in the Major Projects Group (MPG), that require greater oversight due to large scopes and/or dollar amounts.
- Oversight of project lifecycle for utility substations, electric transmission greenfield and brownfield projects in the metro Denver area.
- Project spans up to 5 years involving various electric, electric transmission, and other projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage high visibility projects with significant impacts to all stakeholders.
- Responsible to oversee the design of relocations of gas/electric distribution facilities, coordinate and oversee the engineering of electric transmission and high-pressure gas that are in conflict with the special project.
- Ensure there are adequate design resources which can be a combination of Xcel personnel or design contractors.
Requirements
- Familiarity with regulations applicable to engineering/construction projects.
- Previous experience in utility regulatory environment.
- Previous experience with bulk electric system project management.
Nice to have
- Designs must be completed in a timely manner to meet construction completion requirements of the overall special project.
- Responsible to negotiate each work request from stakeholders, their authorized representative or contractor and execute the agreements for utility relocations and new power requirements.
- Ensure there are adequate construction resources to meet project schedules, resolve ROW, license and easement challenges.
- Establish a single point of contact for all Public Service Company and Xcel Energy departments, municipal entities, stakeholders, and their project representatives / contractors.
- Balance easement rights with all stakeholders.
- Responsible to coordinate timely invoice reimbursements associated with this project.
- Responsible to resolve all customer complaints in a timely and equitable manner.
- Responsible for reporting of project status to various levels of stakeholders throughout Xcel Energy.
Compensation
- $129,000.00 to $183,200.00 per year
