About the role
- Assist with development and implementation of environmental safety strategies and action plans that ensure organization sustainability.
- Coordinate aspects of sustainability: pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation and renewable energy as it pertains to environmental compliance.
Responsibilities
- Perform impact assessments to identify and reduce the organization's risks and financial costs.
- Assist with identifying and developing environmental safety metrics that will indicate the effectiveness of the program.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.

Requirements
- Must be able to carry up to 25 pounds of material and various types of equipment.
- Minimum three (3) years experience in related safety field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory agencies (EPA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) code requirements and/or compliance, and the progressive application of those standards as applicable.
- WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STANDOUT: Broad environmental compliance experience with air, water/wastewater, hazardous waste, tanks (AST/UST), and hazardous materials programs.
- Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required: None Required.
- Experience Required: Minimum three (3) years experience in related safety field.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Intermediate to advanced computer skills with demonstration of skill and competence in use of all Microsoft Office applications required.
Nice to have
- Typical work week is 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday) with flexibility to travel to supporting sites in Charlotte.
- Broad environmental compliance experience with air, water/wastewater, hazardous waste, tanks (AST/UST), and hazardous materials programs.
- Working knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and environmental regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience conducting audits, inspections, risk assessments, investigations, and corrective action plans.
- certifications such as CIH, CHMM, or CCHM are a plus.
Skills
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills with demonstration of skill and competence in use of all Microsoft Office applications required.
