Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate routine stormwater maintenance activities throughout Arlington County.
  • Develop daily and weekly work schedules while coordinating access with facility staff.
  • Perform inspections of stormwater management facilities and green infrastructure systems.
  • Document field activities through photographs and detailed reports.
  • Assist with stormwater sampling and support additional environmental response and field projects as needed.
  • Operate as the field lead, ensuring quality work and successful project execution.
  • As the Stormwater Maintenance Foreman, you'll manage day-to-day field operations across approximately 50-75 sites containing more than 150 stormwater assets.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of stormwater, environmental field, heavy civil, construction, or related experience.
  • Experience maintaining or inspecting stormwater management facilities or green infrastructure systems.
  • Current VDEQ Stormwater Inspector Certification (required).
  • Experience coordinating field crews or subcontractors.
  • Ability to prepare field documentation and reports.
  • A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Botany, or a related field is welcomed but not required.

Nice to have

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
